Tomorrow, I will publish my annual top 20 albums of the year list with a sequenced playlist. In the meantime, here are my top 20 singles of the this year. Opening with a couple of monster K-Pop hits, the set continues with recent single releases from my favourite labels ECM and Mute along with US political rock from Algiers and The Strokes, a new single from Milton Nascimento and a beautiful closing by fellow Berliner Hans-Joachim Roedelius. There are also tracks from Denmark, Norway, Argentina and France. Happy new year! 🎉

[…] Here are my 20 favourite albums from last year (yeah, it’s over). Amazingly, both Andrew Wasylyk and the late Harold Budd released TWO ALBUMS in 2020 that ended up being personal favourites. And the recent collaboration between the brothers Brian Eno and Roger Eno was released as a companion set, thus counting as two as well. I have included the latest EP by Algiers as a bonus track. “Political rock” is more important than ever in my opinion.
