Burt Bacharach 1928-2023

In memory of the great, American composer, I will update this blog dynamically with rare Burt Bacharach tracks. First up, a funky Lionel Hampton (sic!) recording released by Brunswick Records in 1974, but sadly ended up in the cut-out racks.

Legendary Rahsaan Roland Kirk recorded ‘Walk On By’ in a fierce version opening the 1966 album ‘Slightly Latin’ released by Mercury Records.

Grant Green in 1970 on the BlueNote label.

Bill Evans recorded in 1977 but released in 1980 on Fantasy Records.

Richard “Groove” Holmes in 1968.

Ernie Watts ‘Knowing When To Leave’ in 1969.

The Jazz Crusaders ‘Promises, Promises ‘ in 1969.
