Two previously unreleased recordings of Suicide just surfaced on YouTube

Seen here is a rare performance by Alan Vega and Martin Rev as they performed at Max’s Kansas City in 1979. The band SUICIDE and their first record is now one of the best 500 albums of all time as chosen by Rolling Stone. Much admired and imitated, their music finds much resonance in the young innovative music of today. Alan died last year and has had numerous exhibitions of his art, the most recent was installed at the Jeffrey Deitch Gallery in SOHO.

Videotaped in 1979 at Max’s Kansas City in New York, this early performance gained the band an important place in American music. This beautiful and lyrical song is an antidote to Suicide’s hard driving songs and performances.
