The world’s first social network on the blockchain

Since 2011, when I first heard about Bitcoin, it was clear that this would revolutionze the financial industry. Later, I began rambling about a social network using the same backbone technology as Bitcoin. Since then the blockchain has been made more readily available thanks to Vitalik Buterin and his Ethereum team and platform.

Now, the project is a reality. Meet Akasha. Inspired by a Korean, headquartered in Zug, Switzerland and programmed in Bucharest, Romania.

You can sign up for the beta release here (it’s a MailChimp mailing list).

At the time of writing, we are 39 people on the Slack workspace, where you can keep track of things with the bot.
