NTT DoCoMo Inc. has introduced a robot concierge named Shabette Robo. By accessing a cloud-based database set up by a user via smartphones, the robot can check the user’s preferences, daily routines, tastes, etc, and make recommendations. The photo caption is clear: “Good conversation with Prime Minister Medvedev.” Within minutes, the image had more than 10,600 “likes” and nearly 500 shares. Zuckerberg came to the Russian capital yesterday and today will attend a conference for programmers. The idea is to strengthen the presence of Facebook in Russia, a country where social networks are dominated by local site VKontakte.
